Information Sessions
I had to write to let you know how worthwhile last week’s Information Session at Renaissance was for us.
The entire session was beautifully orchestrated — from the warm welcome we received when we arrived and were offered a cup of tea/coffee, all the way through to the lovely light lunch and visit to the display villa.
The highlight of the morning was the Information Session — superbly presented with the PowerPoint presentation and most informative commentary, with generous time offered for audience questions, as well as a quality, 40-page, spiral-bound information booklet! This was a presentation par excellence, fully informing participants about retirement living, without a trace of hard sell regarding Renaissance.
To have a light lunch — including a delectable dessert with tea/coffee personally served — offered at the close of the Information Session was delightful. Having a small number of residents at the session and luncheon was excellent, enabling attendees to directly interact with those living at the village and ask questions.
Finally, the Information Session came to a fitting close when the attendees were invited to visit the display villa.
In closing, thank you Andrew, and all the staff behind the scenes, who have made last week’s Information Session a most profitable venture!
Considering a lifestyle change, especially to a retirement village could be considered a leap of faith with uncertainty regarding adjustment. However, adjustment to life at Renaissance Village commenced for us with the calming feeling we had as we drove through the gates with a lake, bushland and neatly arranged established Villas.
Any trepidation or uncertainty we had about taking the leap of faith was quelled by the hospitable, calm, patient, knowledgeable staff.
There are a variety of villa types set on over 50 acres, constructed to maintain privacy and minimise noise. The complex has well-tended gardens, including bushland, with walking paths. In addition, there is a well-organised leisure centre, with a heated swimming pool, large recreation hall, and several meeting rooms.
Numerous activities are available including, but not limited to, bowls, table tennis, line dancing and various arts and crafts. These coordinated activities enhance village life and encourage community spirit.
Every aspect of Renaissance Village is of a very high standard, staff are professional and attentive. This is a well-managed, friendly village where over 300 residences live independently with the knowledge that assistance is available if required.
After only a few months of residency we are happy we took the leap of faith and have adjusted well to the new environment.
We have resided at Renaissance for a period of six months. We have found the friendship of residents and Admin Staff exemplary. As we have served in the defence and witnessed numerous levels of residence we find on comparison that the Villas are of very high class level.
The occupants are able to have as much privacy or activity to satisfy their desires. A variety of entertainment is made available in the leisure centre on a regular basis. Bar facilities and takeaway menus are available 3 nights a week.
Thanks to the gardeners and maintenance crew we can enjoy beautiful walks around the village or swim in the lovely clean temperature-controlled pool. Renaissance can only be recommended to anyone wishing to reside in a retirement village.
Fantastic Location
Great staff
We were not planning to go into a retirement village just yet, but when Janine invited us to inspect our villa at Renaissance, we knew immediately this was the one we wanted.
My forty-something son came with us on the inspection and afterwards told us he wanted to move into Renaissance too. We realised moving in meant we faced downsizing not only our house but also our stuff. We have been pleasantly surprised by just how few of our possessions we haven’t been able to fit in. There is plenty of storage and the rooms are a good size.
Two things have greatly impressed us. The first is the beauty of the gardens. It is a tonic for the soul to walk through them on the way to the shops. The second is how helpful and friendly everybody has been. As we move around the village people said ‘G’day’ or give you a wave. We’ve been here two months now and are beginning to settle in. It’s a huge relief to know it was the right decision to come.
Good morning Janine
I thought I'd take the time to provide you with some feedback on the session we attended yesterday morning at Renaissance.
We came away with all the answers we were looking for. As you are aware we have visited other villages and had been provided lots of information, but attending a session with other people was most helpful. Different people ask different questions and more topics are raised.
Andrew did a wonderful job - he is obviously very knowledgeable about the Retirement Village Act and was able to respond to all the questions raised in a very professional manner.
Once again, thank you all for inviting us into your Village yesterday. If you email on a regular basis, with updates or upcoming villas, we'd appreciate being added to your list.
