What Life’s Really Like at Renaissance

Hear from the people who call our village home – and their families.

What it’s really like to live at Renaissance

Choosing where to spend your retirement years is a big decision. At Renaissance, residents enjoy independent living, beautiful bushland surrounds, and a genuinely warm community – all just a short walk from shops, cafés and medical services.

On this page, you'll discover what day-to-day life is really like, in the words of our residents and their loved ones.

A Typical Day in the Village

Many residents describe moving to Renaissance as 'the best decision we've made'. Mornings often start with a walk along the lakes and bushland paths, a coffee with neighbours, or a quiet read on the villa patio.

Throughout the day, residents can take part in lawn bowls, table tennis, line dancing, arts and crafts, or simply enjoy the peaceful gardens. Grandchildren visit to play in the kids' Playground, and there's always the option of a swim in the heated pool or a relaxed drink at the bar in the leisure centre.

With shops, medical services and cafés next door, it's easy to stay independent while still feeling supported.

It feels like coming home

Many residents tell us that driving back through the Renaissance gates simply feels like coming home – a calm, welcoming place where neighbours know your name and you can be as social or as private as you like.

“When we have been out and drive back through the Renaissance gates we smile and say ‘ah! we’re home!’” – John

A leap of faith that pays off

Moving into a retirement village is a big step. For many, it begins as a leap of faith – letting go of the family home and starting somewhere new. Residents regularly tell us that, once they’ve settled in, that uncertainty quickly gives way to relief.

“Any trepidation or uncertainty we had about taking the leap of faith was quelled by the hospitable, calm, patient, knowledgeable staff.”Lesley and Bob

“This was the best move we have ever made since moving to Australia.” – Arwyn

Independence with support when you need it

Over 300 residents live independently at Renaissance, with the reassurance that help is nearby if needed. Villas are designed for comfort and privacy, and the village layout minimises noise while keeping everything within easy reach.

“This is a well‑managed, friendly village where over 300 residents live independently with the knowledge that assistance is available if required.” Lesley and Bob

Family and loved ones feel at ease too

For many families, seeing their loved ones happy, active and well-supported makes all the difference. Adult children often share how reassured they feel once their parents have settled in.

“My parents live in Renaissance and have a wonderful lifestyle. So many social activities on offer if you choose to participate… Family are always welcome and we had Easter lunch for 30 on the balcony.”Gai

We visited family at Renaissance Lifestyle Living, Victoria Point on several occasions and was made to feel so welcome by all of the residents that we met. We were so impressed by the dozens of activities available to residents each week and the excellent, well maintained facilities, that we relocated from Adelaide to Renaissance to be part of such a wonderful community. Anyone thinking of retirement living should consider Renaissance. You won’t be disappointed. Tony, Tracey and Rosemarie.

I had to write to let you know how worthwhile last week’s Information Session at Renaissance was for us.

The entire session was beautifully orchestrated — from the warm welcome we received when we arrived and were offered a cup of tea/coffee, all the way through to the lovely light lunch and visit to the display villa.

Considering a lifestyle change, especially to a retirement village could be considered a leap of faith with uncertainty regarding adjustment. However, adjustment to life at Renaissance Village commenced for us with the calming feeling we had as we drove through the gates with a lake, bushland and neatly arranged established Villas.

We have resided at Renaissance for a period of six months. We have found the friendship of residents and Admin Staff exemplary. As we have served in the defence and witnessed numerous levels of residence we find on comparison that the Villas are of very high class level.

We have been here for a little over a year and when we have been out and drive back through the Renaissance gates we smile and say “ah! we’re home!” There are so many positive aspects to Renaissance living – villas, built with the needs of residents in mind, activities galore, functions, and the beautifully maintained gardens and natural wetlands which cheer and revitalise us when out walking.

I live here! After checking-out other retirement villages in the area and the gold coast my wife and I chose this one, and we are so glad we did. It has everything we need for a great easy-going lifestyle. Heaps of activities, a hair salon, swimming pool, mini gym, pool room, computer room etc.

We were not planning to go into a retirement village just yet, but when Janine invited us to inspect our villa at Renaissance, we knew immediately this was the one we wanted.

Good morning Janine

I thought I'd take the time to provide you with some feedback on the session we attended yesterday morning at Renaissance.

We came away with all the answers we were looking for.  As you are aware we have visited other villages and had been provided lots of information, but attending a session with other people was most helpful.  Different people ask different questions and more topics are raised.
